A Program of Community, Learning, and Social Action for Jews Ages 23-35 Generation Alef is a group of exciting young Jewish adults that Share in a Variety of programs together. Our activities will include dinners, concerts, plays, films, and more. We will gather the first Monday of the month over drinks and a meal and come together as a community. If you would like the most up-to-date information, request to join the Gen Alef Facebook Group. If you, or someone you know, are interested in joining our community, please contact Chase Foster for more information, including special Temple membership opportunities for eligible participants. A chavurah is an intimate group of Jews who come together on a regular basis to experience and learn about Jewish living in creative ways. Chavurot are unique communities within our Temple community. Chavurot create the feeling of an extended family—complete with holiday celebrations and the chance to celebrate Judaism with a small group of people who share similar interests. Join with other young couples for evenings of fun conversation and good times. Our young couples club meets monthly for social gatherings! Contact Rabbi Epstein for more information. The Seniors of the YM/YWHA and Anshe Emeth join together Monday through Friday for educational, recreational and social programs as well as a nutritious, hot lunch served at noon. Kosher Meals On Wheels are available for homebound seniors. For more information, call 732-249-2012. G'milut ChassidimA Jewish Response to Hunger (Temple Office 732 545 6484) This is a Jewish organization that gives grants to organizations to combat worldwide hunger. We encourage all Temple members to contribute 3% of the cost of food at all family celebrations and Jewish life-cycle events to Mazon. C.D.C. Community Development Corporation An outreach project which provides free medical equipment and legal consultations to those in need in the Middlesex County community. Bebe BELL lends equipment such as high chairs, cribs and car seats to the needy in our community. To make donations, call the CDC office, (732) 296-9922 Social Action works to inform and educate members about social justice issues in the Jewish and secular communities. Caring Community provides financial and direct help to Temple members and others in the local Jewish community. Friday, December 25 Dinner with our shelter guests at 4 p.m. followed by an early Kabbalat Shabbat service at 6 p.m. This year our junior choir will be singing for the residents at the Regency Heritage in Somerset. We will conclude the day with our annual dinner at the Temple with our homeless shelter guests. Read more...Each winter, Anshe Emeth opens its doors for two separate weeks to host an overflow shelter for our local homeless men. Along with other houses of worship in New Brunswick, we are privileged to provide a safe, warm, place for a group of homeless men who would otherwise be on the streets during the cold winter nights.
Sunday, January 10 If you are between the ages of 17 and 75 and in good health, you can help save a life by donating blood. Remember to bring a photo ID. 17 year olds need parental permission. Enjoy our Membership Breakfast at a discount after you give blood.
Collection of items will begin in Jan 24. Volunteers will be needed to presort donations and work on the days of the Rummage Sale. |
