Anshe Emeth is now beginning its second year in the Greenfaith Certification rogram to become a Green synagogue! We have taken on environmental initiatives in the areas of worship, education, facilities management, advocacy and interfaith coalition-building.
Our Green Team, chaired by Michael Chodroff, had a busy year last year! We put on a Gree Mitzvah Day, featuring a tour of Superfund Sites in the area, film screenings, presentations, and a special activity for kids led by our youth group.
We also had a Judaism and the Environment class in our High School, represented our Temple's Green accomplishments at the Consultation on Conscience, phased out styrofoam, increased awareness about recycling at the TEmple with signs, put on an Interfaith Earth Day Celebration, and incorporated environmental teachingsinto our sermons and service booklets.
Come join us for an exciting year as we plan to be a CSA (Community Supported Agrigculture) drop-off point, put on an adult education series in January for our Kollel program, create a carpooling system, and develop more new initiatives. Check out our website: http://tinyurl.com/AEGreenTeam.
