Jews mark the Babylonian destruction of the first Temple in 586 BCE with a day of mourning and fasting on Tisha b’Av. But what were the geopolitical events of the last 120 years of Judah that led to this fateful outcome? What light can archaeological and historical records shed on this period, and on the account of it that has come down to us through the Bible?
Chris Farrar has been interested in both writing and biblical archaeology since his teens. In recent years he’s been able to bring these two interests together by developing informative talks in archaeology and complementing them with fictional accounts that bring the people and the times to life.
Chris Farrar will be via Zoom only. Registration required to receive the link for Chris Farrar. If you are a Keeper of Jewish Excellence sponsor, you do not need to RSVP.
