Politics, Diplomacy, and Values; Israel’s Leaders and the Fight for Independence
Dr. Rogachevsky brings to life the debates and decisions during the founding of the state of Israel. Dr. Rogachevsky sheds new light on the dilemmas of politics, diplomacy, and values faced by Israel’s leaders as they charted the path to independence and composed what became modern Israel’s most important political text. The stakes began with war, state-building, strategy, and great power politics, and ascended to matters of high principle: freedom, liberty, sovereignty, rights, and religion.
Dr. Neil Rogachevsky is Associate Director and Assistant Professor at the Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought at Yeshiva University, where he teaches and researches Israel studies and the history of political thought. He received his PhD in history from the University of Cambridge.
