November 13: Tikkun Ha-Am: A conversation with Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin
Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin need no introduction to Anshe Emeth. He has been with us many times, as scholar in residence, as speaker, as public Jewish thinker. His new book Tikkun Ha-Am does what Rabbi Salkin always does: it challenges the Jewish community to think and rethink what it is and what it will be. As Salkin writes: “We have the opportunity — and the obligation – to reclaim a Jewish vocabulary of sanctity, activism, and the desire to stand apart from today’s world.” Rabbi Salkin recently returned to New Jersey where he now spends time thinking about the future of our people and spends time with his grandchildren. Nothing could be better. We encourage you to read his book, Tikkun Ha-Am: Repairing Our People and follow him on his regular posts: Martini Judaism: Stirred but not shaken!
