Lunch Time Talmud Study
Rabbi Sienna Lotenberg
Tuesdays, 12:30pm
Starts October 10 – Ends May 21

The Talmud is a complex legal and philosophical document that includes generations of debate, discussion and stories, and provides unique insight into how Jewish law and tradition came to be and evolved over time. We will dive into the world of our ancient rabbis and experience a text that sheds light on how and why we practice Judaism the way we do. Sometimes cryptic, sometimes infuriating, sometimes eye-opening, the Talmud is a significant part of our history, and its pages give us much to learn and talk about! This year, we’ll be learning the opening pages of tractate Bava Batra, which shed light on issues as diverse as the right to privacy and the challenges of political leadership. Talmud Study is open to all, and both total newcomers and seasoned Talmud learners are encouraged to attend!
