Shabbat Achshav Service – Rabbi Nathaniel Keller Memorial Lecture

Friday, December 16, 2022
7:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Rabbi Nathaniel Keller Memorial Lecture – Rabbi David E. Levy
Do I Matter – Jewish Perspectives on Free Will and Determination in the Modern Age

As we always say, two Jews, three opinions. Judaism is rarely monolithic about one perspective, and the question of whether we have free will is no different. Throughout this talk, Rabbi Levy will explore various Jewish perspectives on free will, and how science helps give us guidance on those perspectives.

Rabbi Levy currently serves as the Rabbi of Congregation Shir Ami in Greenwich, CT. He attended Drexel University where he earned his B.S. in Information Systems, Magna Cum Laude. Rabbi Levy earned his M.A. in Religious Education at HUC-JIR and was ordained as a rabbi in May 2012.
