The Heroic Story of Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds – the only American soldier recognized by Yad Vashem as Righteous Among the Nations
at the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County (1775 Oak Tree Road, Edison)
This program is being presented in observance of Veterans Day. The program will honor our American War Veterans as well as the memory of Master Sergeant Roddie Edmonds, a devout Christian from Tennessee who risked his own life to save the lives of 200 Jewish G.I.s when they were prisoners of the Germans during World War II. The keynote speaker will be Pastor Chris Edmonds, the Master Sergeant’s son, who will share his father’s remarkable story of courage and bravery. The program will include a screening of the award-winning film Footsteps of My Father.
