B’nai Mitzvah

At Anshe Emeth, becoming a bar or bat mitzvah is about stepping up and taking their place with greater responsibility in the Jewish community. We celebrate this coming-of-age milestone together during Shabbat morning services.

The students lead services, read Torah, Haftarah, and offer their thoughts and reflections on their Torah portion. This process requires several years of study and participation in our congregation. We also encourage parents to be actively involved in their children’s b’nai mitzvah preparation, including attending services regularly, so that they become fully familiar with Shabbat traditions.

Families of b’nai mitzvah students must be a part of the Anshe Emeth community for at least one year before we can offer a b’nai mitzvah date.
